A Day in the Life Medtronic is seeking a Senior Service Engineering Manager to support the EP Therapies - CAS operating unit. This role will lead a team responsible for advancing serviceability across the product lifecycle. This position will provide technical and organizational leadership to influence product design for service, establish service engineering processes and tools, to support both new products and released product changes. This team partners across Medtronic in a matrixed organization including the Service and Repair Shared Service to achieve objectives. This position will be an asset to achieving the vision of continued high growth in EP Therapies - CAS. This position is based at the Mounds View, MN facility and follows a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of 4 days per week on-site for in-person collaboration. This role may require up to 10% travel to support business objectives, in-person meetings, and project activities. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Lead team responsible for service engineering design, development, and lifecycle support for complex medical device hardware and software Provide input into service strategy, training, and field service documentation Provide engineering leadership for escalated technical issues, risk management, and product improvements Partner across Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Operations, and Service & Repair organizations to deliver solutions that meet compliance and business needs Manage performance, develop talent, ensure engagement and inclusion, and communicate business and operational developments with your team Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, and training to develop high-performing engineering talent while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence Provide leadership to staff ensuring the prioritization of strategic and department level initiatives to include defining performance goals and targets Lead forecasting, effort estimation, resource planning, technical planning and execution Champion best practices in service engineering in partnership with service and repair COE Oversee definition and implementation of engineering practices that improve quality, maintainability, scalability, and product performance Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 7+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry with 5+ years of leadership experience OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 5+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry with 5+ years of leadership experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience in medical device capital equipment development, Design for Service, IEC 62353 compliance, service engineering processes and tool development Experience with electrophysiology procedural environments, including ablation, imaging, and/or mapping Ability to demonstrate knowledge of product development, configuration management, and service FDA regulations and guidance Experience influencing and collaborating with cross-functional partners in matrix environment Ability to demonstrate leading complex technical investigations to issue resolution with cross-functional partners Planning, organizational, and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to leadership and key stakeholders Leadership, coaching, mentoring, and talent development skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment while maintaining focus on quality, compliance, and customer outcomes For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$171,200.00 - $256,800.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
