IQ Lab™ Engineer

The Optikos IQ Lab™ Services team is seeking a skilled, motivated, and detail-oriented IQ Lab Engineer to support our optical metrology group. Our IQ Lab provides precision optical metrology services that help customers solve complex testing and measurement challenges across a wide range of industries.

As an IQ Lab Engineer, you will work with other metrology engineers to perform precision optical measurements, analyze data, and ensure the highest level of quality for customer products. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform assigned IQ Lab testing projects
• Contribute to maintenance and calibration/certification of IQ Lab equipment
• Contribute to maintaining order and cleanliness of IQ Lab space
• Follow procedures for project checklists and customer-supplied material tracking
• Manage assigned IQ Lab testing projects for budget, schedule, and technical risk independently
• Communicate updates and results to the customer
• Participate in meetings with customers to address questions/concerns about testing results
• Host customers on-site during testing
• Support field support and other engineering teams as needed
• Review lens specifications and testing requests to support IQ Lab quoting activities
• Provide sales with technical input for custom quotes
• Participate in pre-sales meetings with customers inquiring about testing support
• Notify Sales and IQ Lab Supervisor about additional testing opportunities with IQ Lab customers

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
• 0-3 years of experience in a metrology or optical engineering environment
• Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation related to optical systems
• Hands-on experience with optical metrology equipment (interferometers, autocollimators, optical flats, wavefront sensors preferred)
• Knowledge of optical design parameters and software
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with data analysis or metrology software is a plus
