Role Summary/Purpose: The Senior Vice President, Cloud & Infrastructure Platforms is responsible for defining and executing the strategy, architecture, engineering practices, transformation initiatives, governance, and operations for Synchrony's private and public cloud platforms. This executive will lead the modernization of enterprise technology capabilities across cloud, networking, platform services, databases, virtual desktop infrastructure, and hybrid-cloud connectivity. This role will build and lead a high-performing technology engineering organization focused on delivering secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective platforms that accelerate business growth, enable digital transformation, and strengthen enterprise resilience. The SVP will serve as the executive leader for Cloud & Infrastructure Platforms and partner closely with leaders across the CIO, Engineering, Security, Architecture, Product, and Business organizations. The role will establish strategic direction, lead critical technology initiatives, advance Synchrony's cloud-first strategy, and champion engineering excellence through automation, Agile delivery, infrastructure as code, platform standardization, and strong operational discipline. This is a highly visible executive leadership role requiring exceptional strategic thinking, execution, organizational leadership, and executive-level communication skills. Essential Responsibilities: Define and execute the enterprise strategy, architecture, roadmap, and operating model for private and public cloud, enterprise networking, database platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, and related platform services. Build, lead, and develop a high-performing technology engineering organization grounded in accountability, innovation, operational rigor, and continuous improvement. Partner with leaders across Technology, Security, Risk, Compliance, Architecture, Product, and Business organizations to align platform investments and priorities with enterprise objectives. Lead cloud and infrastructure modernization initiatives that improve agility, resilience, scalability, security, performance, and cost efficiency while advancing Synchrony's cloud-first strategy and application modernization objectives. Deliver secure, reliable, and scalable cloud, network, database, hybrid-connectivity, and virtual desktop capabilities that support employees, contractors, contact centers, business-critical applications, and Synchrony locations. Provide streamlined cloud onboarding, account provisioning, governance, and lifecycle management across supported cloud providers. Establish and enforce architecture, engineering, security, and operational standards that advance automation, observability, auditability, infrastructure as code, continuous delivery, platform reliability, service resilience, and disaster recovery. Establish governance, controls, and requirements traceability that meet regulatory, audit, risk, security, and policy requirements; represent the organization in regulatory examinations and meetings with agencies including the Federal Reserve Board and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Establish and mature FinOps practices while managing technology budgets, investment priorities, strategic vendors, and resource allocation to optimize cost and deliver measurable business value. Develop and execute communication strategies for Technology & Operations leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, the Executive Leadership Team, customers, and external partners; build relationships that align priorities and influence outcomes. Serve as an executive advocate for platform modernization, engineering excellence, and technology transformation, and perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelors in computer science, engineering, or related discipline with 10 years of Information Technology leadership experience in lieu of a the Bachelor's degree minimum of 10+ year’s experience in information technology Proven track record as a strategic Information Technology business partner to senior leadership, with experience leading large, mission-critical technology platforms and teams. Demonstrated success building and operating complex, sophisticated, business-critical technology platforms. Strong technical knowledge of cloud, automation, observability, networking, database platforms, and technology operations. Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity, establish direction, influence stakeholders, and help teams resolve conflicts. Deep domain expertise in the use of cloud, networking, and data technologies to support business strategy and growth. Significant experience with major public cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure. Demonstrated experience presenting technology strategy, operational performance, risk posture, and remediation plans to regulatory agencies, including the Federal Reserve Board and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Desired Qualifications: Exemplary core management and prioritization skills Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact at all levels with clarity Strong leadership and influencing skills.  Experience in leading large, strategic transformational initiatives Demonstrated ability to work with third party vendors and solution providers Strong knowledge, experience in Payment Industry Grade/Level: 15 The salary range for this position is 200,000.00 - 330,000.00 USD Annual. This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan target of 25% of salary and an Annual Equity target of 25% of salary. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events. *Field Sales and some Commercial team roles may have varied location requirements based upon partner obligations or preferences. Eligibility Requirements: You must be 18 years or older You must have a high school diploma or equivalent You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
