Job Description: Job Description: Fidelity Investments Workplace Solutions (WS) organization is looking for a Senior Mainframe developer with 6–9 years of hands‑on experience in developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise‑grade mainframe applications. The candidate must have strong expertise across core mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and associated IBM mainframe utilities to support equity compensation products for the Global markets. The Purpose of Your Role: As a Senior Mainframe developer, you will be working directly with both technical and business stakeholders to translate a vision and designs into sustainable business solutions. You will be responsible for the development and enhancement of complex software applications, ensuring they are built with quality, consistency to our standards, performance and responsive to the device accessing the application in mainframes. The Skills that are Key to this role · Hands on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, MVS, Endeavor ISPF, TSO, CICS, Control-M, and basic IBM utilities · Proven problem-solving abilities and analysis of complex mainframe programs is a must skill. · Must be experienced in maintaining systems in the MVS mainframe environment. · Must have worked in Mainframe application development. · Must be able to negotiate, influence and work with business peers and management. · Must have experience of working in an agile environment · Ability to understand the requirements and come up with an optimal end-to-end solution · Must possess strong analytical skills to review the production problems reported · Able to do unit testing · Must have hands on exposure to AI tools and worked in modernization/Requirement creation projects Behavioral Skills · Candidate should possess highly proficient written and verbal communication skills in the English language · Candidate should possess exceptional stakeholder management skills · Connect with business partners on critical requirements and work with different teams to derive the solution · Must be capable of fixing complex processes quickly and learn through independent research. · Must take the end-to-end ownership of all the tasks and work independently · Should be a good team player Desired Value-Add Skills · Knowledge of Micro-Services Architecture concepts and emerging patterns such as APIs, Web Services (REST/SOAP). · Knowledge in Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot The Skills You Bring · Ability to collaborate with other technical and business experts in the team · Your sophisticated skills in data intensive application development, data integration, and data pipeline design patterns on a mainframe platform. · Proven ability to learn and experiment with new technologies and patterns · Passion to follow modern test driven and automation driven software development methodologies The Value You Deliver · Keeping the focus of the work in terms of Customer obsession. · Partner with technical leads to make clear, simple, and technically sound design decisions. · Embrace continuous improvement regarding application quality and stability. · Strong sense of ownership for the quality of solution delivery. · Being candid and honest in all discussions to ensure the best outcomes. The Expertise we’re looking for Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar subject. · 6+ years of experience in development work in Mainframe technology. · Financial services experience, preferably in Brokerage Domain · Certification in relevant technologies is preferred. Skills/Knowledge and experience: · Operating Systems : Mainframe · Languages : COBOL,CICS, JCL (work experience is must),Good to have understanding of distributed technology. · Database : DB2, NSP, VSAM, exposure to Oracle DB · Methodology : Agile · Others : Prior experience on large scale IT Transformational Projects ( Migration, Modernization) is plus.
