Job Description SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Public Service Programs, the Next Generation Service Corps Program Manager provides leadership in the development, establishment, and implementation of academic curriculum, community-based opportunities, services, advocacy, and research for the program. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Begin each statement with an action verb in the first person present tense, e.g. write, calibrate, analyze). Establish and maintain communications and cooperative working relationships with MSU administrators, faculty, staff, students, student organizations, government and private agencies and the public to accomplish the goals of the Next Generation Service Corps program. Work directly with the leadership of the Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships to develop strong partnerships within the university and broader community. Assist with writing internal and external operation and evaluative reports. Develop, manage, and recommend annual budgets for the Next Generation Service Corps Program. Establish and maintain communications and cooperative working relationships with college administration to accomplish the goals of community engagement with entities and higher education partners throughout the State. Continuously reviews and evaluates workload; develops and implements improved methods as required. Develop, maintain and nurture relationship with the college administration and staff so to operationalize partnerships both on and off campus. Responsible for data collection, program evaluation and implementation of alternative procedures to improve performance and objectives. Represent college in community meetings and events to promote effective collaboration with partners. Coordinate and conduct the recruitment, interviewing, and selection process for all NextGen student employees, ensuring equitable hiring practices and alignment with office needs. Coordinate, place, and supervise the progress of students enrolled in the Next Generation Service Corps and participating in community projects in the field. Track progress of all students’ academic and program related requirements. Design and/or manage student learning assessment and evaluation projects for Next Generation Service Corps program. Compile, summarize and analyze statistical and other Program data and develop findings, conclusions, and recommendations that support the mission and goals of Program activities. Develop public relations materials to enhance Program image that can be circulated to potential funding organizations. Assist with writing internal and external operation and evaluative reports and maintain Next Generation Service Corps section of the MSU website. Perform other duties as assigned. Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time. QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university. A minimum of three years of professional experience in program management or administration community engagement projects/programs in civic engagement, such as service-learning, volunteer or comparable area. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Interact comfortably and effectively with diverse communities and individuals. PREFERRED: Master’s degree from accredited college or university. Experience developing administering and monitoring budgets. Supervisory experience.
