Job Summary: The Senior Network Engineer will serve as the subject-matter expert for trading and corporate network projects, providing architectural leadership from solution design through production deployment. The role will ensure that network solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, operationally ready, and aligned with regulatory and business requirements. Job Duties: Job Responsibilities: Act as the network subject-matter expert (SME) for trading and corporate network projects, from solution design through production deployment. Provide architectural guidance on trading networks, market data distribution, and exchange connectivity. Review and validate network designs, implementation plans, migration strategies, and change proposals. Advise on colocation, cross-connect, network redundancy, resiliency, and capacity-planning initiatives. Collaborate closely with project managers, Network Operations, trading application teams, Information Security, and external vendors. Support technical risk assessments, architecture governance, and production-readiness reviews. Ensure that network solutions comply with applicable regulatory, audit, security, and operational standards. Job Requirements: A minimum of 7 years of experience in network architecture, engineering, or consulting within the financial services industry or an exchange environment. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Strong expertise in large-scale Data Center network architecture, including spine-leaf designs, high-availability solutions, and non-blocking network fabrics. Hands-on experience with Data Center Interconnect (DCI), network redundancy models, and active-active and disaster recovery architectures. Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 Data Center networking, including EVPN/VXLAN and network traffic segmentation. Knowledge of cross-connects, carrier diversity, and colocation environments, preferably within exchange or financial Data Centers. Demonstrated ability to review and validate capacity-planning and resilience designs for mission-critical systems. Familiarity with network security architecture, including secure zoning, firewall integration, and east-west traffic controls within Data Centers. Experience supporting Data Center migrations, infrastructure refresh programmes, and technology upgrades with minimal service disruption. Experience with network automation tools and AI agents is a plus. Strong understanding of operational readiness, monitoring, documentation, and service handover requirements in 24x7 mission-critical environments. Ability to lead technical discussions with vendors and solution providers, including reviewing architectures, bills of materials (BOMs), and CAPEX/OPEX justifications. Ability to develop and present high-level solution options, clearly outlining design trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and architectural considerations. Proven experience supporting mission-critical systems in regulated environments. Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal users, project teams, management, and external partners to support successful project delivery and operational alignment.
