Requirements
As a Transmission Component Assembly Technician, you’ll be the go-to contact for existing customers who have transmission issues. You’ll investigate warranty claims and parts problems and see them through to resolution. You’ll work closely with our technical sales, product build and test teams to find root causes and get customers answers quickly. Your work helps catch recurring problems early and keeps customers confident in our products.
What you’ll do
- Put safety first and never pass on a defect, no matter what leaves your hands.
- Work like a pit crew and bring innovation to finding better, faster and smarter ways to work
- Resolve customer issues with transmission systems and components.
- Investigate warranty claims and parts issues, including root cause analysis.
- Work with technical sales, product build and test teams to resolve customer concerns.
- Track recurring issues to catch problems before they lead to warranty claims.
- Serve as the main contact for existing customers on reworked products and issue tracking.
- Diagnose complex transmission problems and explain your findings clearly to customers and non-technical staff.
- Take ownership of your work and look for ways to make it better.
- Help keep our workplace safe, organized and respectful.
What you bring:

- Associate’s degree in automotive technology or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on automatic transmission experience, including disassembly, diagnosis, rebuilds and road testing.
- At least 3 years in technical support or customer issue resolution in the automotive aftermarket.
- Experience with 2500 and 3500 diesel pickup, performance Powerglide, TH400 and 4L80E transmissions.
- Diagnostic skills with scan tools, pressure tests, wiring diagrams, oscilloscopes and multimeters, including hydraulic and electronic control issues.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a methodical approach to diagnosis and clear documentation.

Nice to have:
Nice to have: Technical support experience with automatic transmissions; ATRA Certified Rebuilder; OEM training on 68RFE, 48RE, 6R140, 5R110W, Allison or 10L1000 transmissions; ASE certification.
