Overview:
Diverse Systems Group, LLC (DSG) is seeking a Systems Engineer Level IV to support our federal client. The Systems Engineer will provide senior level technical expertise in the design, implementation, administration, and support of enterprise systems, servers, virtualization platforms, storage solutions, and data center technologies.
Job Summary:
· Role Designation: SYSTEMS ENGINEER - Level IV
· Investigation Required: Tier 3 (T3)
· IA Technical/Management Designation: IAT III and CE
· Microsoft MSCE-level certification preferred, or equivalent experience.
· Experience: Eight (8) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency with server operations to include blade architectures, virtualization technologies, Active Directory management, Group Policy, application support, and storage solutions.
· Degree/Education: Bachelors’ Degree and/or Equivalency.
Duties:
- Demonstrates ability to independently design, configure, test, implement and maintain a networked system server environment or application along with ability to support administers and users utilizing the environment or application.
- Demonstrates ability to independently design, configure, test, implement and maintain an enterprise level endpoint management solution with ability to support administrators and users utilizing the environment or application.
- Ability to provide high level technical and administrative direction for personnel responsible for systems, servers, and storage design, implementation, and operations tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards and progress in accordance with schedules.
- Assists system administrators with complex troubleshooting issues and if needed coordinates vendor engagements to assist in troubleshooting efforts.
- Ability to independently evaluate and resolve system, servers, virtualization, storage, and processing problems.
- · Ability to design, configure and implement system, servers, virtualization, and storage architecture designs.
- · Ability to evaluate performance using hardware and software diagnostic tools.
- · Lead the designing, planning and installation of new systems, servers, virtualization, storage, and hardware.
- · Evaluate changes for operational impact.
- · Make recommendations for approval of systems, servers, virtualization, and storage installations.
- · Prepare milestone status reports and deliveries/presentations on systems, servers, and storage progress to stakeholders, colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives.
- · Oversee the performance of System/Server Engineers.
- · Work with Information Assurance engineers to ensure all systems and servers meet DoD RMF requirements.
- · Works collaboratively with Cybersecurity team to ensure the following: Maintenance of baseline system security according to organizational policies, cyber threats and vulnerabilities are mitigated, and information technology (IT) security principles and methods (e.g., firewalls, demilitarized zones, and encryption) are adhered to.
Requirements
SPECIFIC DUTIES/TASKS THE CONTRACT EMPLOYEE SHALL PERFORM:
- Manages Data Center teams and projects in the planning, design, implementation, Implement and manage disaster recovery and COOP plans, systems, and operations.
- Experience managing virtualization solutions such as VMware.
- Experience with deploying & hardening Windows workstation and server OSes
- Experience on various IT-centric monitoring tools, such as Splunk, SL1 and SCOM.
- Experience in building and applying computer imaging to laptops and desktops – ensures device is configured and networked within the specifications provided by the Defense Health Agency.
- Microsoft Active Directory administration, GPO configuration and administration, MECM administration including patch and software deployment and imaging, and EUD and server patch management.
- Utilizes processes, systems, tools, and organizational resources to initiate, plan, control, execute and close projects and programs associated with technology development, implementation, and operations.
- Implements engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures in accordance with organizational methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution and sustainment of engagements.
- Proactively supports changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Creates, compiles, reviews, and submits high-level deliverables across data center projects.
- Creates and maintains reporting mechanisms to show the overall health of the technology project portfolio, including program and project status, issues, and action item tracking.
- Communicates effectively and timely to leadership on status reports, issues impacting data center services, and any performance improvement initiatives.
- Ability to support after hours downtime and issues.
Certification(s):
- Security+ CE or higher. Microsoft MCSE level certification or comparable certification is preferred.
- Required certifications must remain current throughout employment and the applicable period of performance.
Clearance:
Must have an active Secret security clearance and be able to maintain the required background investigation, system access, and facility access necessary to perform assigned duties.
