Raytheon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide design engineering and integration/test support on a key airborne sensor product development effort in our North Texas location. We are looking for self-starting candidates to perform mechanical design and documentation of electro-mechanical assemblies, coordinate with and visit suppliers throughout the US, and support our manufacturing facility in Forest, MS. The candidate is expected to follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure the overall design goals are met. This effort is of high visibility and importance to the company and the defenders of this nation. The position resides in the Hardware Mechanical Engineering Airborne Sensor RF Design Department. What You Will Do: Perform mechanical design and documentation for antennas, RF sensors, electronics, and supporting sub‑systems. Utilize PTC Creo Parametric CAD and apply GD&T principles for design documentation and fabrication. Follow established procedures while collaborating closely with program and functional leadership to meet design objectives. Develop technical solutions to a wide range of complex mechanical engineering problems. Oversee mechanical outlines, construction details, connector selection, mechanical/assembly drawings, and elements of the technical data package. Work with minimal supervision, exercising significant latitude in determining technical approaches and solutions. Coordinate frequently with IPTL, Program Management, and external personnel. Travel periodically to suppliers and other sites to support programs. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or a minimum of 5 years’ prior relevant experience, to include any combination of the following: experience with the design and manufacturing of electronics packaging for military and aerospace applications; experience with GD&T, ANSI drawing standards, first‑order analysis techniques; and experience with PTC Creo MCAD software and drawing standards. Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required after the start date. Qualifications We Prefer: Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and mechanical fabrication/assembly drawings. Six (6) or more years of experience designing and testing electronics packaging for military or aerospace applications. CREO surfacing experience and strong overall mechanical engineering expertise. Ability to provide technical guidance to junior engineers and operate effectively in dynamic environments with evolving requirements. Strong technical aptitude, analytical skills, and excellent written/oral communication. Experience with PRISM, SAP, CMES, or similar production documentation systems. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
