The Data Engineer I is responsible for designing, developing and delivering effective data solutions for different business units. This position requires advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and cloud native services for building data engineering pipelines and data products in alignment with architecture and best practices. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage scalable and reliable data engineering solutions. Job Description Simmons Bank invites you to collaborate in an agile team of peers developing and supporting on-premises & cloud-based analytics platform integrating data from a broad number of systems to enable next-gen analytical products. The Data Engineer I is responsible for designing, developing and delivering effective data solutions for different business units. This position requires advanced level knowledge of Microsoft O365 Power Platform and cloud native services for building data engineering pipelines and data products in alignment with architecture and best practices. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage scalable and reliable data engineering solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in building and maintaining ETL (extract, transform, load) pipelines. Write basic scripts to automate data collection and preprocessing tasks. Integrate data from various sources into data warehouses. Ensure data quality and consistency across different datasets. Perform data cleansing and validation tasks. Monitor data quality and report issues to senior team members. Work under the guidance of senior data engineers and data scientists. Assist in documenting processes and maintaining technical documentation. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Skills Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages like Microsoft Power Fx, PowerShell, DAX, SQL Familiarity with SQL for database querying. Familiarity with O365 data products (e.g., SharePoint Online, OneDrive, PowerBI, Dataverse) Understanding of relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server) Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts. Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools and services PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Basic understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) & Familiarity with data services offered by these platforms. Understanding of building and maintaining data pipelines. - Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Luigi. Knowledge & experience of working in Agile Delivery model Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field AND 1-4 years of practical hands-on experience with data engineering projects Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Certifications in relevant technologies or tools (PL‑900 (Fundamentals), PL‑400/AB‑400 (Developer Associate), AB‑410 (Intelligent Applications Builder), PL‑300 (Power BI Data Analyst)).
