About Central Semiconductor

Central Semiconductor LLC, an AEM company, is a leading manufacturer of high-quality discrete semiconductor solutions, including surface mount and bare die devices. With a strong reputation for innovation and reliability, Central serves a broad range of industries requiring both advanced technology and continued support for legacy systems. Headquartered in Hauppauge, NY, and founded in 1974, Central maintains its position as a trusted partner by delivering tailored semiconductor solutions for today’s most demanding applications.

Position Summary

Central Semiconductor is hiring an experienced Inside Sales Representative to own the front end of the business, from RFQ through purchase order, for customers across distribution, contract manufacturers, and direct end users. The focus is capturing more of the strong demand Central sees for its commodity semiconductor products, while also selling Central's broader portfolio and developing new business in target accounts.

This is a phone-forward sales role, not an inbound customer service position, and it calls for equal strength in analyzing data and engaging customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage Accounts From Quote to Order

  • Grow revenue across your accounts by increasing volume on current products, winning new part numbers and programs across Central's portfolio, and reactivating lapsed business, with extra focus on commodity products where Central sees strong demand
  • Manage every RFQ through to purchase order: qualify requirements, timeline, stakeholders, and buying process; deliver accurate, competitive quotes fast; clear technical, pricing, or lead-time blockers; and follow up until you have an order or a clear reason why not
  • Engage customers every day by phone, email, and LinkedIn, building relationships across purchasing, engineering, program management, and supply chain to understand upcoming demand, target pricing, and competitive alternatives
  • Keep Salesforce accurate, run outreach and follow-up in Salesloft, and give sales leadership a clear monthly forecast of expected business, risks, and actions to close gaps

Find and Develop New Business

  • Use Central's sales data and systems to hunt for demand: analyze purchase history, quote activity, and part-number trends to see where demand is growing, declining, or going to competitors, then build a prioritized plan and campaigns to capture more of it
  • Prospect into a set of target accounts prioritized by signals like new funding, program launches, design authority, or a clear need for Central's products. Research each account, run multi-touch outreach, follow up on inbound leads, and set qualified business development meetings for the field sales team

Work Across the Business

  • Partner with Pricing, Supply Chain, and Operations so Central is ready to capture more demand, bringing them competitor and target pricing and customer needs on availability, lead time, and future demand
  • Support the customer relationship team when coverage requires it, including order entry, changes and reschedules, cancellations, RMAs, delivery and documentation issues, and technical or quality inquiries

Tools You Will Use

You'll work in Salesforce (system of record), Salesloft (outreach), ZoomInfo (account and contact research), AEM's Commercial Operating System (quoting and analytics), and an AS/400 ERP we're actively modernizing. Comfort with data and a willingness to help build better tools matter more than experience with any single platform.
