We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Controls Technician to support the startup and operation of a new aluminum extrusion manufacturing facility. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with advanced automation systems, and contributing to the successful launch of new equipment and processes. Essential Responsibilities Support the installation, startup, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and automated systems. Install, maintain, and modify PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, motion control, and industrial network systems. Diagnose equipment failures using electrical drawings, software tools, and test instruments. Assist in equipment upgrades, process improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives. Install and terminate motors, sensors, instrumentation, control panels, and field devices. Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, ladder logic, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Coordinate with equipment vendors and contractors during installations and major repairs. Required Qualifications Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or related field; equivalent military or industry experience may be considered. Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and automation systems. Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar. Knowledge of HMIs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, and industrial controls. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment. Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms when required.
