Full description
We're an Amsterdam-based team of 100 (and counting), with 25+ nationalities and hundreds of thousands of kilometers under our collective travel belts. What we have in common, beyond very well-worn passports, is this: We want to change the way people travel. That's exactly what we're doing, with the app that lets you plan, track, and relive every trip. Polarsteps has over 20 million users already. For us, this is just the beginning.
Your expedition: Product & Growth
This role is about the heartbeat of Polarsteps, the social layer that keeps travelers connected to the people who care about their journeys. You'll own the Social & Follower experience. Your users are followers & travelers; think about features that help travelers share what they're experiencing and help followers stay close from a distance. You are responsible for the engagement mechanics; think about how to make followers feel involved, not just informed, turning a passive audience into a real homefront community.
While innovating on this engagement, you will also be owning one of the most important growth loops of our business: the social viral loop. Here you'll be working closely working together with other teams that use the share flow, while also closely collaborating with our Growth & Marketing team who are in contact with resources like our Polarsteps Pioneers.
The social viral loop is one of Polarsteps' core growth engines, and it deserves both love (features that make sharing feel fun and effortless - like our route sharing feature) and brains (the thinking to optimize the numbers behind it). This is a role for someone who gets excited about optimizing the % in a growth loop and, in parallel, wants to grow product strategy skills on an important part of the travel experience while delivering a great experience to users.
Your itinerary
What your journey at Polarsteps will look like day-to-day.
You will:
Own the Social & Follower experience end-to-end, from sharing functionality and growth loops to follower engagement features, likes, comments, and trip interaction.
Drive growth for key metrics: MAU, sharing rates, and social engagement, setting the bar and holding yourself to it.
Design and run experiments to validate ideas fast. You won't guess when you can test.
Work hand-in-hand with Growth & Marketing to align product initiatives with acquisition and retention goals, no silos, just shared wins.
Translate messy, complex problems into small, testable stories, making outcomes clear for everyone on the team.
Celebrate the small wins as much as the big ones. Incremental progress is still progress.
The equipment in your backpack
What we're hoping you'll bring with you.

✅ Genuinely data fluent; you move from hypothesis to experiment to decision without losing momentum. You treat every dataset as a chance to get sharper, not just to confirm what you already know.
✅ A solid understanding of UX/UI and creating a great (app) experience to drive product growth
✅ Experience working on app-first consumer products (B2C is your world)
✅ Growth and marketing-minded, you understand funnels, loops, and what makes people come back
✅ Humble, collaborative, and energized by team wins, this role doesn't work in a silo
✅ Bonus: experience with social or community features, or products where sharing is core to the experience
