As a key member of Neogen’s Global Portfolio team, the Global Technical Marketing Specialist - Food Safety serves as the technical content and scientific integrity lead for assigned product portfolios. This role translates scientific evidence, product performance data, and customer applications into credible, customer-focused content that supports portfolio growth, commercialization, customer adoption, lifecycle management, and launch excellence. The Global Technical Marketing Specialist partners closely with Portfolio Management, R&D, Scientific Affairs, Regulatory, Quality, Technical Services, Field Application Scientists, Sales, and Regional Marketing teams to ensure technical messaging is scientifically accurate, consistent, commercially relevant, and appropriate for global markets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Technical Content Strategy and Execution Serve as the primary technical content lead for assigned product portfolios. Plan, create, review, maintain, and update technical content throughout the product lifecycle. Translate complex scientific, technical, application, and product performance data into clear, customer-relevant materials for internal and external audiences. Partner with Portfolio Management, Field Application Scientists, R&D, Scientific Affairs, Regulatory, Quality, Technical Services, Sales, and Regional Marketing to develop technically accurate and commercially effective content. Develop technical materials that support commercialization, customer adoption, product positioning, differentiation, and lifecycle management. Ensure technical messaging is consistent across products, applications, markets, and customer-facing channels. Documentation Ownership and Scientific Integrity Own and maintain core technical documentation for assigned products, including product instructions, equipment manuals, technical bulletins, application guides, training materials, validation reports, customer case studies, and scientific white papers. Ensure assigned technical documentation meets established standards for accuracy, scientific integrity, consistency, usability, and quality. Verify that technical materials align with approved product claims, validation data, intended use, workflow requirements, and product limitations. Support document review, revision control, and harmonization across global markets and functions. Establish and maintain consistent standards for technical writing, formatting, and content quality. Collaborate with Regulatory, Quality, Scientific Affairs, and other applicable functions to support appropriate review and approval of technical materials. Technical Enablement, Product Positioning, and Launches Partner with Portfolio Managers to ensure scientific evidence and technical content support portfolio strategy, product positioning, differentiation, pricing, and growth initiatives. Provide technical marketing support for product launches, commercialization activities, and launch readiness. Develop launch-related technical materials, including training presentations, workflow diagrams, performance summaries, frequently asked questions, application guides, and technical comparison materials. Support training for Sales, Technical Services, distributors, and regional marketing teams to strengthen product knowledge and messaging consistency. Equip customer-facing teams with credible technical information regarding product performance, workflow advantages, applications, and differentiation. Contribute technical expertise to launch planning, launch reviews, and post-launch optimization activities. Competitive Analysis and Performance Benchmarking Support technical competitive analysis and product benchmarking against competitive products, reference methods, emerging technologies, and alternative workflows. Develop technical comparison tools, performance summaries, and evidence-based differentiation materials. Monitor competitor claims, product updates, workflows, and supporting technical content to identify potential market risks and opportunities. Partner with cross-functional teams to translate competitive and benchmarking information into positioning, training, and sales enablement materials. Additional Technical Marketing Responsibilities Develop and support application notes, troubleshooting guides, webinar content, technical FAQs, objection-handling tools, and other customer education materials. Contribute to customer evidence generation, case study development, and scientific storytelling for campaigns and strategic initiatives. Represent Technical Marketing on cross-functional product development, portfolio planning, commercialization, and launch teams as required. Support technical onboarding and training for distributors and channel partners. Maintain global consistency of technical materials while supporting appropriate adaptation for regional markets and customer applications. Provide technical input into product roadmap planning, claims support, customer education strategies, and portfolio initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline. Five or more years of professional experience in technical marketing, applications, technical services, scientific affairs, product management support, or another related scientific or technical function. Experience developing technical or scientific content for internal or external audiences. Experience developing or supporting customer-facing technical documentation, training materials, validation summaries, application materials, or scientific communications. Demonstrated ability to interpret scientific or technical information and translate it into clear, audience-appropriate communication. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with scientific, technical, commercial, regulatory, quality, or marketing stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Ability to collaborate effectively with teams located across multiple regions and time zones. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline. Seven or more years of experience in technical marketing, applications, technical services, scientific affairs, product management support, or a related field. Experience within food safety, food microbiology, diagnostics, laboratory testing, or a related industry. Knowledge of food safety testing workflows, microbiological testing, laboratory instrumentation, and customer applications. Experience supporting global product portfolios or working with international teams. Experience supporting new product launches, commercialization initiatives, or product lifecycle management. Experience developing scientific white papers, technical bulletins, validation reports, application guides, case studies, or similar technical content. Experience conducting competitive technical analysis or product performance benchmarking. Experience supporting technical training for sales teams, distributors, customers, or other commercial stakeholders. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong scientific and technical writing skills. Ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy. Ability to evaluate technical data and identify commercially relevant insights. Ability to develop clear, credible, and customer-focused technical messaging. Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively across scientific, regulatory, quality, marketing, commercial, and technical functions. Ability to independently manage assigned projects while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to adapt communication and content for different markets, applications, customer groups, and levels of technical expertise. Location and Working Style This position offers location flexibility and may be performed remotely, subject to applicable business and employment requirements. The role requires regular collaboration with cross-functional teams across multiple regions and time zones. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required to support customer engagements, regional teams, training activities, scientific conferences, product launches, and other business initiatives.
