Job Title Senior Systems Engineer – Board Management Controller (BMC) Location Noida, India Experience 5–10 Years Job Summary NXP is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to drive the development and deployment of next-generation Board Management Controller (BMC) solutions for datacenter and infrastructure applications. The role involves OpenBMC enablement, server platform integration, customer support, validation, and reference design development based on NXP processors and industry-standard management frameworks. The successful candidate will work closely with hardware, software, architecture, and customer engineering teams to deliver production-ready BMC solutions. The role aligns with NXP's strategic investment in BMC technologies, OpenBMC, Redfish, MCTP/PLDM, DC-SCM platforms, and datacenter infrastructure solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop, integrate, and validate OpenBMC software on NXP platforms. Enable and support industry-standard management protocols including: Redfish IPMI MCTP PLDM Perform hardware and software bring-up of BMC reference platforms. Validate server management functions including: Power control Thermal monitoring Sensor management Event logging Firmware updates Support host interfaces and sideband communication protocols such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, NC-SI, I²C, I3C, SMBus, UART, and GPIO. Work with ODMs, OEMs, and end customers to support design-in activities and resolve technical issues. Develop automation and regression test frameworks for platform validation. Analyze and debug complex hardware/software integration issues across multiple subsystems. Support customer demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and technical workshops. Create technical documentation, application notes, validation reports, and integration guides. Contribute to upstream OpenBMC and ecosystem initiatives where applicable. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. 5–10 years of experience in embedded systems, Linux platform development, or server management solutions. Strong programming skills in C/C++. Experience with Embedded Linux development and debugging. Hands-on experience with Linux BSPs and device drivers. Familiarity with Yocto-based Linux distributions. Experience using Git and collaborative software development practices. Strong understanding of hardware/software interactions and system-level debugging. Preferred Qualifications Experience with OpenBMC development. Working knowledge of Redfish, IPMI, MCTP, and PLDM. Experience with server platforms, datacenter infrastructure, or management controllers. Knowledge of OCP and DC-SCM architectures. Familiarity with security technologies such as Secure Boot, TPM, and Root of Trust. Experience working with Ethernet, PCIe, USB, and low-speed management interfaces. Exposure to validation automation frameworks and continuous integration environments. Desired Skills Strong analytical and debugging capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional global teams. Customer-focused mindset with strong ownership and execution skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
