General Description of Position

The Manager of Direct Sales, Travel Team builds and leads a high-performing traveling door-to-door sales team supporting new and priority Fiber Deployment Areas (FDAs) across Clearwave Fiber’s 12-state footprint.

This role is responsible for recruiting, developing, and leading up to 10 Sales Executives who deploy into new fiber markets to accelerate customer acquisition and market penetration. The Manager owns team performance, culture, field execution, and deployment effectiveness while ensuring consistent sales, activity, and customer experience standards across markets.

Your Mission

Build and lead an elite traveling direct sales team capable of deploying where Clearwave Fiber needs additional sales resources and market support. Create a culture of energy, accountability, development, and execution while delivering measurable FDA penetration, sales, installation, and revenue results.

Duties and Responsibilities

FDA Ownership and Performance

  • Own Travel Team performance within assigned FDAs, including penetration, sales, installation, and revenue objectives.
  • Develop deployment strategies, manage territories and resources, and adjust field execution based on market conditions, customer response, available passings, and performance trends.
  • Lead deployments throughout Clearwave Fiber’s 12-state footprint, traveling up to 75% as business needs require.

Talent Strategy and Development

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop up to 10 Sales Executives.
  • Maintain a strong recruiting pipeline to achieve target headcount and identify candidates with the competitiveness, resilience, work ethic, and coachability required for high-activity field sales.
  • Develop team members through structured onboarding, field coaching, performance reviews, and ongoing professional development.

Culture, Coaching, and Accountability

  • Create a high-energy, competitive, and accountable team culture focused on execution, customer experience, and results.
  • Set clear expectations, recognize strong performance, and quickly identify and address performance gaps.
  • Maintain a strong field presence through ride-alongs, field observations, and real-time coaching. Develop Sales Executives in prospecting, customer engagement, objection handling, closing, customer experience, territory management, and pipeline management.

Sales Execution and KPI Management

Manage team performance through measurable sales and activity standards, including:

  • FDA penetration
  • Gross and net sales
  • Door knocks and customer conversations
  • Conversion and daily sales productivity
  • Fiber installations and installed-sale conversion
  • Cancellation and fallout rates
  • Pipeline and recapture performance
  1. Use KPI data to identify trends, coach individual and team performance, forecast results, improve productivity, and optimize deployment strategy.
  2. Hold Sales Executives accountable to established activity, productivity, conversion, quality, and customer experience expectations.

Operational Execution and Reporting

  • Ensure consistent execution of territory management, activity standards, customer experience expectations, sales processes, and reporting requirements.
  • Provide accurate and timely visibility into FDA penetration, sales performance, field activity, pipeline health, installation results, and deployment outcomes.
  • During non-deployment periods, ensure the team remains productive in designated home markets through local selling, pipeline management, pending installation follow-up, fallout management, and cancellation or failed-install recapture.
  • Maintain disciplined territory management to maximize available opportunities and ensure sales resources are deployed against the highest-priority areas.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Regional and local market leadership, Operations, Marketing, Construction, Sales Enablement, and other internal teams to align Travel Team deployments with company growth priorities.
  • Coordinate with market leadership before and during deployments to understand market conditions, available passings, customer opportunities, operational constraints, and sales priorities.
  • Share field insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to improve market execution, customer experience, and future deployment strategies.

Compensation and Employment

This is a full-time, salaried sales leadership position offering a competitive base salary plus a monthly target incentive opportunity based on established performance objectives.

Incentives may be tied to FDA penetration, sales and installation performance, KPI execution, team productivity, headcount, and other established company targets.

Company-supported travel is provided in accordance with Clearwave Fiber travel and expense policies. The position is eligible for applicable employee benefits.

Additional Responsibilities
