About Us

Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.

Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.

About the Role

As Head of Marketing, US, you will build Harmattan AI’s marketing function in the United States from the ground up, working in close alignment with the Global Head of Marketing. Harmattan AI’s core company, mission, product positioning, and brand are global and centrally defined. You will be responsible for translating that strategy into the U.S. market, shaping how it is communicated and activated across the U.S. defense ecosystem while maintaining a consistent global identity. You will lead U.S. product marketing execution, events, communications, and employer branding, moving constantly between strategy and hands-on delivery. This role suits a builder who can adapt global direction to U.S. customers and stakeholders, create the processes needed to execute effectively, and deliver at speed.

Responsibilities

U.S. Strategy & Positioning

  • Develop and execute the U.S. marketing strategy and rolling 12-month calendar, aligned with global marketing.

  • Establish U.S. messaging architecture adaptation across company, product, customer, and mission levels.

  • Activate the Harmattan AI brand for U.S. audiences.

  • Own U.S. positioning for Harmattan's product portfolio, grounded in real operational use cases.

Product Marketing & Sales Enablement

  • Build and maintain a library of U.S. collateral: capability briefs, one-pagers, white papers, and customer presentations.

  • Create a repeatable process for rapidly producing materials supporting BD, capture opportunities, and customer engagements.

  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, accurate messaging for operational and acquisition audiences.

  • Direct photo and video capture at demonstrations to produce compelling, credible visual storytelling.

Communications, Events & Employer Brand

  • Own U.S. public relations and earned-media strategy, building relationships with defense media and analysts.

  • Execute U.S. events and trade-shows across defense conferences, symposiums, and demonstrations.

  • Support executive communications, including talking points, briefs, announcements, and high-visibility media engagements.

  • Build U.S. employer-branding and digital campaigns supporting the growth of the Austin operation.

Leadership & Performance

  • Define U.S. marketing KPIs tied to pipeline, customer engagement, recruiting, and market credibility.

  • Manage agencies, contractors, and event vendors, and build the future U.S. marketing team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Significant experience building or scaling marketing at a U.S. defense technology, aerospace, autonomy, or national security company.

  • Experience in a high-growth defense technology environment is strongly preferred.

  • Deep fluency in the U.S. national security ecosystem and how to communicate credibly with defense audiences.

  • Proven ability to market sophisticated technology accurately, without buzzwords or overclaiming capability.

  • Track record across product marketing, executive communications, event strategy, thought leadership, and sales enablement.

  • Hands-on operator who personally produces work at speed, rather than only managing agencies or teams.

  • Experience working with veterans, engineers, operators, and government customers is highly valued.

  • A strong portfolio of prior work is required; a relevant bachelor's degree is preferred but secondary to demonstrated performance.

  • Full commitment to Harmattan AI's mission and a readiness to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
