About Foundation Health
Foundation Health is an AI operating system for pharmacy - built by a team who lived the problem firsthand, not one that came to healthcare from the outside. Every day, prior authorizations delay prescriptions, pharmacists lose hours to paperwork instead of patients, and prescriptions slip through the cracks between health systems. We believe thoughtfully applied AI can finally change that - deep, integrated infrastructure that streamlines how care is coordinated, purpose-built for the complexity of specialty pharmacy.
We're building toward a world where pharmacy teams spend their time on patients, not paperwork - where AI handles the routine so clinicians can focus on what only humans can do. Getting there takes the right people. We're looking for curious, ambitious folks who want to help solve healthcare's hardest problems - for our patients, our partners, and each other.
The Role
We've built an AI operating system for pharmacies, tackling the operational infrastructure behind things like paperwork and care coordination. It's in production with enterprise health systems across the US, and we're working directly with one of the biggest names in pharmacy.
As a Software Engineer, you'll ship features and fixes across the product: prior auth workflows, Epic integrations, and the AI agents that handle patient calls and texts. You'll own your work end to end, build with AI tools every day, and be trusted to make the call, from your first week.
At a big company, year one is usually internal tooling and six layers of review. Here, you'll ship to production in your first week, on systems pharmacists and patients actually depend on, in the same room as engineers who've built at serious scale.
What you'll actually do
Ship well-scoped features and fixes independently, with proper test coverage, at a pace you'll be proud of
Work AI-native from day one, with Claude, Cursor and the rest as a core part of how you build, and with the judgment to know when the output needs a second look
Learn the domain deeply: who the pharmacist is, what workflow they're stuck in, and why your ticket exists. Ask "why" when a requirement feels off
File the bugs and UX issues you notice without waiting to be told
Level up fast through code review and pairing with engineers who've built serious systems. Here, the feedback comes from customers, not committees
What we're looking for
Sharp CS fundamentals and evidence you love building. That could be side projects, internships, open source, or a startup that didn't work: something you made because you couldn't not
Learning velocity. You pick things up fast and you enjoy the discomfort of not knowing yet
High agency, and curiosity about the product, not just the code
You're already building with AI tools and you think carefully about their limits
Where you'll work
This is a hybrid role, 3 days a week in our downtown Orlando office, and early in your career that's a real advantage. Most of what makes a great engineer isn't written down anywhere. It's overhearing how a senior engineer argues a design through, or turning your chair round to ask a question instead of waiting a day for a Slack reply. Our VP of Engineering works from the same office. Everything is greenfield, so you'll learn on modern code, not by untangling someone else's ten-year-old mess.
The practical stuff
Our packages include equity, and it's early enough that it actually means something, not a rounding error. Orlando also means your comp survives contact with your cost of living, and Florida has no state income tax. We're backed by Define Ventures, led by a 2x founder, and our VP of Engineering came from DeepMind.
