Job TitleAssistant Professional Professor, Mechanical Engineering Agency Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi Department College of Engineering - ENGR Proposed Minimum SalaryCommensurate Job LocationCorpus Christi, Texas Job TypeFaculty Job Description The Department of Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track position at the rank of Assistant Professional Professor of Mechanical Engineering to begin Fall 2027. Applications from candidates with backgrounds in the mechanical engineering sub-disciplines of solid mechanics, manufacturing processes, mechanical systems design, and/or rigid-body mechanics / dynamical systems analysis are sought. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four to five courses per semester in these areas of the undergraduate mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering technology curricula. There will be some service responsibilities as well. The Department of Engineering prepares well-educated, highly skilled, and socially and professionally responsible engineers and engineering technologists from a various population of students so that they can have productive and rewarding careers at local, state and national levels. Graduates will be well grounded in the fundamentals of engineering, mathematics, science, communications, and problem solving. To ensure that our graduates are valued by industry and to continually improve our program, input is sought from employers, our alumni and an industry advisory committee so that the changing needs of industry are met. The Department of Engineering offers programs leading to Bachelor of Science degrees in civil engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, and mechanical engineering technology, to Master of Science in Engineering degrees with concentrations in civil, electrical, industrial, and mechanical engineering, and to Ph.D. in Engineering degrees with concentrations in the areas of civil and environmental engineering, electrical engineering and advanced manufacturing, industrial and process engineering, and mechanical and energy engineering. Required Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Advanced ABD will be considered, degree must be conferred by the time of appointment; and A track record in or interest in teaching in such areas as solid mechanics, mechanical systems design, manufacturing processes, and/or rigid-body mechanics / dynamical systems analysis; and At least one (1) year of experience teaching in a university engineering program. Preferred Qualifications: Research and publications in the areas listed above. At least three years experience teaching in a university engineering program.
