Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and other site teams, you will troubleshoot equipment and process issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement technical improvements that reduce failures, downtime, and maintenance costs. The role combines day-to-day plant support with longer-term reliability initiatives, including preventive maintenance, mechanical integrity, equipment and maintenance data, process improvement, and technical and regulatory compliance. You will also contribute to capital projects and reliability improvements that support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform failure and root cause analysis and make technical recommendations for repairs and replacements, considering economics and plant availability risks. Provide daily technical support for equipment and process problems. Initiate, plan, and implement long-term corrective actions to improve process and plant reliability. Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team on a daily basis. Ensure regulatory compliance for preventive maintenance of plant equipment and maintenance processes. Ensure adherence to Evonik GPS-PT documents for the maintenance department. Maintain the mechanical integrity program for related devices and equipment, including records within SAP. Maintain records for safety devices, including the PSV book with inspection, testing, and calculation methods. Support Management of Change processes and documentation. Ensure compliance with corporate and OSHA requirements for maintenance contractors performing activities in the plant. Support the Contractor Safety Program. Plan and participate in the maintenance budgeting process. Prepare outage schedules and shutdown work lists and support daily scheduling activities. Work with the maintenance team to identify and resolve plant equipment reliability issues. Maintain management systems including SAP, spare parts, mechanical integrity, and maintenance quality management. Ensure maintenance processes adhere to Evonik binding technical documents. Scope and execute capital projects to support plant goals and initiatives. Provide plant-specific technical expertise on the application of equipment innovations and developments and current maintenance techniques. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience in a chemical process, manufacturing, industrial, or similar plant environment, including experience in equipment reliability, maintenance, or plant engineering. Experience with equipment troubleshooting, failure and root cause analysis, preventive or predictive maintenance, mechanical integrity, or other reliability-related engineering activities. Experience with SAP, Oracle, or a related computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is highly valued. Technical knowledge combined with strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills to address equipment, process, maintenance, and technical project challenges. Ability to plan and organize technical work and manage multiple priorities in a plant environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, contractors, vendors, and other plant functions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with Power BI, Aspen Manufacturing Suite, or similar analytical or manufacturing software is a plus.
