A Day in the Life Careers that Change Lives: As the Communications leader, you will lead strategic communications for the EurAsia Commercial Enablement function. Reporting to the VP of EurAsia Communications, and functionally to the SVP of EurAsia Commercial Enablement, you will serve as a strategic communications advisor to the SVP and leadership team, developing and executing communications that help employees understand the business strategy, navigate change and stay focused on the priorities that matter most. This role will have a strong focus on internal communications, employee engagement, and change communications, while also identifying opportunities to strengthen executive visibility and the reputation of Medtronic. You will translate complex business priorities into clear, compelling communications for diverse audiences across EurAsia, partnering closely with leaders and communications colleagues to ensure messages are relevant, consistent and actionable. A Day in the Life: Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Strategic Communications & Counsel: Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the objectives of the EurAsia Commercial Enablement function and aligns messaging with the SVP's strategy, priorities and leadership voice, as well as broader EurAsia goals. Serve as a trusted communications advisor to the SVP and leadership team, anticipating communications needs and helping leaders communicate with clarity, consistency and impact. Internal & Employee Communications: Develop and execute internal communications that connect employees to the Commercial Enablement strategy, priorities, performance and ways of working. Create clear, audience-relevant communications across leader channels, employee forums, meetings, digital channels and other appropriate platforms. Executive Communications: Shape executive communications and visibility for the SVP and other key leaders, translating business strategy, priorities and perspectives into compelling leadership narratives for internal and external audiences. Advise leaders on how to communicate with clarity, authenticity and impact across a range of opportunities and stakeholders. Thought Leadership & Reputation: Identify selective opportunities to strengthen the profile and reputation of Medtronic and its leaders, including thought leadership and external visibility where it supports business or reputational priorities. External Communications & Reputation: Partner with EurAsia Communications and relevant Global Communication & Corporate Marketing (GCCM) colleagues on external communications, media engagement and reputation priorities when appropriate. Ensure Commercial Enablement leaders are prepared to represent the organization effectively on relevant external topics. Performance, Measurement & Insights: Utilize data-driven insights to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and continuous improvement. Use employee feedback, engagement data, and communications metrics to identify what is working, where clarity is lacking, and where communications can have greater impact. Engage and partner with GCCM Colleagues: Proactively engage with GCCM colleagues across the function to represent EurAsia Commercial Enablement needs and opportunities. Collaborate with GCCM, EurAsia and enterprise communications partners to bring relevant strategies, programs, and campaigns to life within Commercial Enablement, while ensuring the needs and perspectives of EurAsia are reflected in broader communications plans. undefined Cross-functional Partnership: Partner closely with HR, Commercial Enablement leadership, business leaders and other functional stakeholders to ensure communications are integrated into planning and change initiatives from the outset. Help leaders anticipate employee questions, address barriers to understanding, and build alignment around key priorities. undefined Simplification & Ways of Working: Champion clear, focused and audience-centered communications across Commercial Enablement and EurAsia, where applicable. Help the organization navigate a complex information environment by prioritizing what employees need to know, what they need to do, and what matters most. Must Have: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic internal communications, business or corporate communications role, or 8 years with a master’s degree Experience navigating and contributing to a matrix leadership model. Strong generalist experience across multiple communications disciplines. Preferred Qualifications: Proven ability to build trust and establish credibility with all levels of management, including executive leadership. Experience leading communications in a highly matrixed, global organization, with a focus on healthcare or technology. Expertise as a strategic advisor to business leaders, with a strong track record of driving successful communication initiatives. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated experience using metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies. Experience managing organizational change. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.
