Sr Manager - Virtualization Engineering

This role will be onsite at our Easton Oval office in Columbus, OH. Summary: The Sr Manager - Virtualization Engineering will manage the activities of IT Operations and Infrastructure Services teams through staff and/or subordinate managers and supervisors. This individual will be responsible for VMWare cloud foundation and virtual desktop infrastructure as well as automation engineering for virtualization platforms. Duties and Responsibilities: Develops strategic direction for present and future IT services Participates in strategic planning with IT senior management and with business leaders Plans and manages complex and strategic enterprise-wide projects. Responsible for ensuring that availability SLAs are met, failed customer interactions (FCIs) are minimized, and technology currency is maintained for supported systems Oversees the planning, scheduling, assignment and monitoring of staff and resources for assigned areas of responsibility Develops and maintains processes to ensure ongoing support for responsible systems Maintains fiscal accountability and is responsible for financial budgets Maintains a high level of technical expertise related to assigned departmental functions and stays current in technical enhancements, methodologies and trends that particularly apply to Huntington Performs other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or 4+ additional years of experience in IT infrastructure 10+ years of related experience in client and server infrastructure Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated technical competence and ability to stay current with changing industry trends Demonstrated use of standards, policies, and best practices within the server and desktop virtualization Strong vendor management including vendor negotiation skills Experience with deployment and system build automation Ability to initiate new efforts through requirements gathering and drive the team to completion Ability and drive to implement continuous process improvements Strong Project Management experience Results driven, ensuring short-term goals are achieved while supporting long-term initiatives with an appropriate sense of urgency Strong technology skills with the ability to produce relevant information from teams and make critical decisions Management and leadership skills to attract, retain, and motivate high talent professionals Excellent ability to motivate and influence a cross functional team to perform above normal expectations Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Experience in the financial industry desirable. Experience with the IT PMO and other technical and application teams on the estimation, budgeting, accounting and other requirements related to project delivery Proven methodical approach to problem identification, problem solving and resolution using analytics and diagnostics in a timely manner Strong technology skills with the ability to produce relevant information from teams and make critical decisions Great Aptitude for technology and demonstrated independent knowledge Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay) Yes Workplace Type: Office Our Approach to Office Workplace Type Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
