About the role
We're seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to architect, maintain, and scale our critical infrastructure. You'll be responsible for ensuring system reliability, optimizing performance, and implementing modern deployment strategies that enable our engineering teams to ship with confidence.
This role requires deep technical expertise across AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps tooling, combined with strategic thinking about capacity planning and system evolution.
What you'll do
Architect and scale our AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure to suit our evolving requirements
Build and maintain the Terraform modules the rest of engineering relies on for infrastructure changes
Drive capacity planning and cost management across production systems
Build observability into our services with Honeycomb, Sentry, and CloudWatch so issues surface before they become incidents
Manage CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, shared composite actions, and reusable workflows
Own networking, traffic routing, and security configuration, including load balancing, WAF, and DNS
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
Deep expertise with AWS services, particularly EKS, VPC, S3, and RDS/Aurora, and Well-Architected framework
Extensive experience with Kubernetes internals, cluster administration, and multi-environment management
Strong proficiency writing and maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform, including module development and state management
Production experience with CNCF projects such as Helm for package management and Karpenter for node provisioning
Proven experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions
Hands-on experience with observability tooling including Honeycomb, Sentry, and AWS CloudWatch
Deep expertise implementing zero-downtime deployment strategies with automated rollbacks
Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and traffic routing
Experience managing async job processing systems and message queues at scale
Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Go, Bash, or similar)
Proven track record of capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost management initiatives
Familiarity authoring
AGENTS.mdfiles and DNA scaffolding that encode our conventions and steer AI review bots
Nice to have
Experience designing alerting strategies for production services with on-call runbooks
Proficiency building dashboards and visualizations for real-time service health
Background in database monitoring solutions for RDS Postgres
Experience creating custom metrics and instrumentation for application-specific insights
Hands-on experience with application profiling to identify performance bottlenecks
Experience with Cloudflare WAF including origin shielding and firewall rule management
Familiarity with Okta IdP integration and Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations
Experience designing and implementing RBAC systems across AWS and Kubernetes
Why you'll love working here
Incredible ownership. We have the reach of a large company and the team size of a startup, so you'll own a large part of what we build. Customers like T-Mobile, LinkedIn, HubSpot, New York Life and Northern Trust already run on what you'll help build.
The right moment. We raised a $75M Series C in November 2025 at a $1.3B valuation, after revenue more than doubled the year before, and users have already documented more than 10 million workflows across 40,000 software applications. Enterprises like New York Life and Havas Media use Scribe Optimize today, but many of its core systems are still being designed, so if you join now, you help decide how they work.
Smart is the floor, kind is the bar. We love to see each other win, and One Team, One Dream is one of the most shouted-out values in #values.
