We're looking for an experienced and inspirational technology leader to lead our API Gateway and Developer Portal teams while helping shape the future of our emerging AI Gateway capabilities. This leader will be responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and scalable shared technology platforms that enable engineers across Huntington to build, integrate, and innovate with confidence. This is an opportunity to lead enterprise-scale platforms that power critical business capabilities across the organization while influencing the next generation of API and AI-enabled technology services. What You'll Do at Huntington (Duties / Responsibilities) As an IT Service Delivery Manager – API Platform, Developer Portal & Emerging AI Gateway, you'll have the opportunity to: Lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for Huntington's Apigee-based API Gateway and Developer Portal, supporting critical enterprise capabilities 24x7x365. Be accountable for end-to-end technology delivery execution, including staffing, planning, engineering execution, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across assigned platforms. Develop and execute the long-term strategy and roadmap for Huntington's API Gateway, Developer Portal, and related platform capabilities in partnership with Product Management, Architecture, and Security. Achieve outstanding availability, reliability, scalability, resiliency, and performance through proactive engineering, automation, observability, and operational discipline. Own platform health, service delivery, operational readiness, incident management, and disaster recovery preparedness for supported services. Collaborate with architecture, product management, security, and engineering teams to ensure a well-defined and executable roadmap that aligns with enterprise priorities. Own the full API lifecycle, including onboarding, governance, security controls, monitoring, analytics, adoption, and continuous improvement. Champion developer experience by making the Developer Portal the enterprise destination for API discovery, onboarding, documentation, testing, and integration enablement. Drive platform adoption through developer engagement, standards, training, documentation, and enablement activities. Work closely with product managers, architects, and security teams to build a best-in-class API ecosystem that enables internal agility and external connectivity. Partner with architecture, product management, security, and AI engineering teams to support the evolution of Huntington's AI Gateway capabilities, helping establish secure, governed, and scalable access to approved AI services across the enterprise. Foster a culture of technical excellence by coaching engineers, promoting modern engineering practices, and encouraging innovation, automation, and continuous learning. Establish and monitor operational, reliability, and adoption metrics that demonstrate platform value, service quality, engineering efficiency, and business impact. Responsible for financial transparency across IT, including platform operations, initiatives, forecasting, and resource planning. Evaluate and validate business drivers and priorities and communicate delivery roadmaps, in partnership with Product Managers and Product Owners, across the organization. Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Bring ( Basic Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum 10 years of related technology experience with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role. Proven experience leading software engineering, platform engineering, or shared technology teams. Demonstrated experience delivering and operating highly available enterprise platforms and services. Deep hands-on expertise with Apigee X, including policy development, traffic management, security, observability, and analytics. Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth 2.0, JWT, API security, and API governance best practices. Experience with developer portal technologies such as ReadMe, Apigee Developer Portal, or equivalent developer enablement platforms. Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure), and modern observability practices. Strong understanding of platform operations, service reliability, incident management, capacity planning, and operational excellence. Proven ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, architecture, product management, security, and business stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Passion for developer experience, platform thinking, modern architecture, and engineering excellence. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value. Experience managing enterprise shared services or platform capabilities supporting multiple business segments. Exposure to AI platforms, Generative AI technologies, AI gateways, model-serving platforms, or enterprise AI governance frameworks. Experience implementing technology governance, security, and risk controls within regulated environments. Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries. Proven ability to lead transformational platform initiatives while building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Compensation Range: 93,000.00 - 189,000.00 USD Annual The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
