Role Overview We are seeking a Manager, Systems & Software to lead a high-performing team of software and hardware engineers supporting complex defence and simulation programs across the Asia Pacific region. Reporting to the Senior Manager Engineering - IPAC, you'll be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of software and hardware engineering activities across multiple projects while ensuring quality, schedule and cost objectives are achieved. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to manage a team of approximately 16 engineers, influence the delivery of mission-critical defence capabilities, and work closely with engineering, program and business leaders across Australia and internationally. You will also play a key role in shaping engineering capability and aligning regional outcomes with CAE's global engineering organisation. Description In this role, I will: Lead, mentor and develop a team of software and hardware engineers. Plan, monitor and oversee software and hardware activities across projects, services and bids. Ensure engineering solutions align with system architecture, engineering standards and quality requirements. Partner with engineering, project and business stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes. Manage delivery risks, team performance and continuous improvement initiatives. Support alignment with CAE's global engineering organisation and engineering best practices. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. 8+ years of relevant engineering experience. Previous leadership experience managing or leading technical teams. Experience within software engineering, hardware engineering or complex systems development environments. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and people leadership skills. Experience managing resources, delivery schedules, budgets and risk. Ability to work effectively within complex engineering and project environments. Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Ability to work from our Homebush, NSW site. Preferred Qualifications Experience within Defence, Aerospace, Simulation or other highly regulated industries. Experience leading multidisciplinary software and hardware engineering teams. Knowledge of complex simulation systems and software development practices. Engineers Australia membership. Experience working across geographically dispersed engineering teams. Location Homebush, NSW. This role may involve occasional domestic and international travel and collaborative engagement with teams across Australia, New Zealand, Brunei, Canada and the United States.
