Learn more about Land.com This role is in our Austin, TX office with a hybrid schedule of 4 days on-site and 1 day work from home. We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer focused on AI-driven product development, modern React applications, and practical large language model (LLM) integration. As a senior member of the Land.com engineering team, you will design, build, and support highly performant web applications and AI-enabled experiences that help drive the growth of our Land.com business unit. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience applying AI-assisted development workflows, integrating LLM capabilities into production systems, and delivering reliable, scalable customer-facing solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, support, and maintain production web applications using React, TypeScript, CSS, JavaScript, C#, .NET, and SQL. Lead the development of AI-enabled product features that integrate LLM capabilities into existing business workflows, user experiences, and application services. Apply senior-level engineering judgment to evaluate where AI creates meaningful customer or operational value and where traditional software solutions are more appropriate. Design and implement LLM integration patterns such as prompt orchestration, structured outputs, tool or API calling, fallback handling, and guardrails. Assist in establishing practices for AI-assisted and LLM-powered features, reliability, latency, cost, and user safety. Analyze technical requirements and design new components, services, web pages, and controls that meet functional, performance, scalability, availability, and maintainability requirements. Apply software design patterns, SOLID principles, secure coding practices, and sound quality management methods to create reusable, maintainable, well-tested application software. Mentor engineers on modern development practices, AI-assisted engineering workflows, code quality, testing strategy, and responsible use of LLM tooling. Create thorough unit, integration, and functional test coverage for the software and AI-enabled features you own. Develop and maintain SQL database scripts, application data access patterns, and supporting services required by product features. Required Skills: Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, in-person, not for profit university or college. A track record of commitment to prior employers. 6+ years of professional software development experience in production environments, including ownership of complex systems or product features. Hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, C#, .NET, and SQL. Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, or delivery speed. Experience integrating LLM APIs or AI services into application code, including prompt design, structured outputs, error handling, and production monitoring. Experience with software testing practices such as unit, integration, functional, regression, and performance testing. Demonstrated knowledge of SOLID principles, design patterns, API design, and scalable application architecture. Experience working within Kanban-oriented engineering teams with strong collaboration across product, design, QA, and engineering stakeholders. Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions, risks, tradeoffs, and implementation plans within and across teams. Ability to lead work independently, mentor other engineers, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision. Preferred Skills: Self-starter with a strong product mindset and a desire to solve business problems with the help of others. Deep understanding of React architecture, component design, state management, accessibility, and performance optimization. Experience architecting systems using C#, .NET, SQL, REST APIs, and service-oriented application patterns. Experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, code review practices, and automated quality gates. Experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, cloud services, or other search and retrieval technologies. Familiarity with responsible AI practices, secure AI integration, data privacy considerations, and guardrails for customer-facing AI features.
