[PUB-WSP] Asst Engineer (AE)/Sr AE (Ops/Shift), CCKWWs

[What the role is] As an Assistant Engineer/ Senior Assistant Engineer (Operations), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following : [What you will be working on] • Plant Operations — Operate water treatment plant and equipment to produce potable water at prescribed quantity and quality, in compliance with WHO, USEPA and EPH guidelines, and respond promptly to alarms, equipment faults and process deviations. • Water Quality & Compliance — Carry out water sampling and laboratory tests to monitor and ensure water quality is consistently maintained within prescribed control limits and regulatory standards. • Safety & Work Procedures — Adhere strictly to SOPs, WSH regulations and Permit-to-Work systems during all operational and maintenance activities, and participate actively in emergency response drills and safety improvement initiatives. • Contractor Coordination — Supervise works performed by contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and contractual requirements. • Collaboration & Coordination — Work closely with fellow shift operators, day work colleagues and other plant teams to ensure seamless handovers, share operational updates and resolve issues together as one team. • Continuous Improvement — Maintain accurate operational logs and records, and contribute to process improvement initiatives and the review of SOPs and work instructions to enhance plant efficiency and reliability. [What we are looking for] Requirements Diploma in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline) Experience in water treatment, utilities or process plant operations is an advantage Possession of relevant operational licences or certifications (e.g., boiler operator, water treatment) is an advantage Familiarity with SCADA systems is an advantage Able to perform shift work [3-shifts: 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm, 11pm to 7am] Candidates with relevant experience may be considered for a Senior Assistant Engineer position Other Requirements Good team player Technical knowledge in water treatment processes or related engineering disciplines Hands-on operational competence with plant equipment and systems Good observation and problem-solving skills Good communication and stakeholder management skills Safety-conscious with working knowledge of WSH regulations Reliable, adaptable and able to perform consistently across shift hours Tech-savvy with an interest in digitalisation, process automation or data-driven operations Work Location Choa Chu Kang Waterworks http://jobs.careers.gov.sg The Singapore Public Service plays a key role in the economic growth, progress and stability of Singapore by formulating and implementing government policies, as well as providing key public services.
