As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed — we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We're proud to work for a mission-driven company leveraging AI to transform the way we work. CrowdStrikers drive their careers through flexibility and autonomy while also being expected to contribute to a culture of responsible AI adoption, experimentation, and innovation. We use an AI-first mindset as a force multiplier to proactively and continuously accelerate execution, build expertise, uncover insights, and solve complex problems. We’re always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you. About the Role: CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design and build the software systems that power our global LogScale/NG-SIEM infrastructure footprint. The FrontTier Expansions team is responsible for enabling LogScale fleets to run reliably wherever our customers need them — across AWS, GCP, OCI, and CrowdStrike-managed datacenters. As a senior engineer, you'll take ownership of core services and automation frameworks that make multi-cloud expansion fast, safe, and repeatable, while mentoring others and raising the engineering bar across the team. You'll be building software for systems that ingest over 100 PB of event data daily, support decade-long data retention, serve millions of queries per hour, and support thousands of customers globally. This is an opportunity to write code that operates at a scale few engineers ever experience, where your contributions directly impact the security posture of organizations worldwide. This role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site from our Austin, TX Office. What You'll Do: Design, build, and own core services and libraries that support multi-cloud deployment and operation of LogScale fleets across AWS, GCP, OCI, and on-prem datacenters Develop automation tooling and microservices that standardize how infrastructure and platform components are provisioned, upgraded, and scaled across cloud providers Build and extend observability tooling — tracing, profiling, alerting, and SLO frameworks — to give the team proactive insight into fleet health at scale Architect solutions for capacity planning, workload forecasting, and dynamic scaling across heterogeneous cloud environments Contribute to and improve shared-tier libraries and frameworks used across the broader NG-SIEM/LogScale platform Drive technical design for version upgrades, patch orchestration, and configuration management systems that minimize customer impact Implement security-first infrastructure designs — including authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging — aligned with cybersecurity industry standards and compliance requirements Adopt GitOps methodologies and DevSecOps best practices within CI/CD pipelines Act as a technical lead and liaison between FrontTier Expansions and internal stakeholders on infrastructure and platform capabilities Design, deploy, and troubleshoot services running in Kubernetes clusters across managed and self-managed environments Mentor engineers on distributed systems design, cloud architecture, and engineering best practices Evangelize best practices for building reliable, scalable software, and raise the technical bar of the team Participate in an on-call rotation supporting production infrastructure globally Continuously re-evaluate architecture, performance, and reliability as the platform scales to new clouds and customers What You'll Need: 7+ years (avg. experience = 10-15 yrs) of full-time experience in a service-oriented backend developer role 5+ recent years developing microservices for a SaaS product in Go, Python, or similar object-oriented/backend language Strong software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems) Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or OCI), with strong eagerness and ability to learn others Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability challenges, and multi-threading/concurrency concepts Experience designing and building microservices, automation tooling, or infrastructure-as-code frameworks for production systems Experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting applications in Kubernetes clusters in production Experience with configuration management/IaC tooling (Chef, Ansible, Terraform, or similar) Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, Bitbucket, or similar) Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, load balancers, DNS) Understanding of security-first design principles: authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging A thorough understanding of engineering best practices — testing paradigms, code review, and resilient architecture Proven ability to mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar of a team Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams across time zones A self-starter mentality with the ability to own problems end-to-end and drive them to resolution Availability for on-call on a rotational basis Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes. Bonus Points: Expert-level Go; experience with multiple cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, OCI, Azure) LogScale/Humio, Kafka, or other distributed streaming/log management systems Experience with data lake/lakehouse architectures or data federation at scale Kubernetes operators/Helm development or CKA/CKAD/CKS certification SRE practices (SLOs, error budgets) and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) Cloud certifications (AWS/GCP/OCI) and FinOps/cost optimization experience Open source contributions; effective use of AI coding assistants CS degree (or commensurate experience); cybersecurity/SIEM background #LI-SS1 Benefits of Working at CrowdStrike: Market leader in compensation and equity awards Comprehensive physical and mental wellness programs Competitive vacation and holidays for recharge Paid parental and adoption leaves Professional development opportunities for all employees regardless of level or role Employee Networks, geographic neighborhood groups, and volunteer opportunities to build connections Vibrant office culture with world class amenities Great Place to Work Certified™ across the globe CrowdStrike is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. CrowdStrike was founded in 2011 to fix a fundamental problem: The sophisticated attacks that were forcing the world’s leading businesses into the headlines could not be solved with existing malware-based defenses. Founder George Kurtz realized that a brand new approach was needed — one that combines the most advanced endpoint protection with expert intelligence to pinpoint the adversaries perpetrating the attacks, not just the malware. There’s much more to the story of how Falcon has redefined endpoint protection but there’s only one thing to remember about CrowdStrike: We stop breaches.
