Pilatus is hiring an Upholstery and Trim Technician to join the team in Broomfield, CO. In this role, you will perform fabrication of aircraft interior components such as headliners, sidewalls, armrests and carpets. Under limited supervision, fabricates, assembles, sews, and prepares aircraft interior components in accordance with all technical data and unique customer specifications. Performs material inspections, handling, cutting, and application according to approved process specifications and FAA/FOCA requirements. Requirements

Skills/Qualifications

  • Performs incoming inspections of materials including fabric, foam, leather, ultra-leather, and vinyl
  • Measures, marks, and cuts materials to drawings and work instructions
  • Bonds materials using various processes and adhesives
  • Applies and finish wraps materials to composite and kydex interior panels
  • Sews leather and other finish materials prior to application
  • Maintains labor tracking and job card/task signoffs within ERP/MRP system
  • Follows safety policies and uses required personal protective equipment in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  • Works with Leads and higher skilled technicians to develop and refine skills and techniques
  • Performs all assigned tasks in accordance with Pilatus quality standards
  • Fabricates aircraft carpet using cutting, binding, and sewing machines
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy work area
  • Assists coworkers and other departments to successfully perform job tasks when needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Lead or Manager


Skills/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Two (2) years related trade school or vocational degree preferred
  • Demonstrated craftsman-level abilities and quality, and a minimum of two (2) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use hand tools, adhesive spray gun, industrial sewing machine, and/or other specialized equipment
  • Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations
  • Ability to read, understand, and adhere to engineering drawings, tech specs, and other relevant documents
  • Eye for precision and attention to details
  • Able work in restricted spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Regular, reliable attendance required, and willingness to work overtime and other shifts as needed
  • Proficiency in general computer use and MS Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • This position involves access to technology that is subject to U.S. export controls. Any job offer made will be contingent upon the applicant’s capacity to serve in compliance with U.S. export controls.

The hiring range is $22.93 -$30.77 per hour. This range represents Pilatus Aircraft USA Ltd.’s estimate of the compensation reasonably expected for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant skills and experience, education, job location, internal equity, market data, and business considerations. The hiring range may be modified in the future based on business or market conditions. Any bonus, incentive compensation, benefits, or other forms of compensation are subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans, programs, and policies and may be modified in accordance with applicable law.
