About Marvell Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities. At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead. Your Team, Your Impact The next generation of AI infrastructure depends on how efficiently data moves. As cloud providers expand their AI clusters, optical connectivity is essential to delivering the bandwidth, reach, and power efficiency these systems demand. Marvell’s Cloud Optics organization develops the advanced optical technologies that help make this expansion possible. Our portfolio spans connectivity within data centers, across campuses, and between data centers—including PAM4 optical digital signal processors (DSPs), coherent-lite DSPs, co-packaged optical engines, and data center interconnect (DCI) optical modules. Join a team working at the intersection of silicon photonics, advanced semiconductor design, packaging, and system integration. Here, you will help turn complex engineering innovations into production-ready solutions that enable cloud and AI infrastructure to scale. What You Can Expect As a Sr. Staff Hardware Engineer – Program Manager, you will own the execution of complex hardware optical programs from initial planning through qualification, customer sampling, and production ramp. This is not management for a single chip development; you will manage multiple concurrent hardware development lines all culminating into a single module product. You will connect technical ambition with disciplined delivery, aligning engineering and business teams around a clear path to successful hardware product introduction. Your ownership extends beyond an individual silicon tapeout. You will orchestrate the interdependent activities required to deliver complete optical solutions, bringing together photonics, analog design, packaging, validation, supply planning, operations, and finance.Your decisions will help teams resolve technical and operational challenges, protect critical milestones, and deliver the connectivity needed for increasingly demanding AI workloads. This is a high-visibility opportunity to influence product execution, partner with technical leaders, and communicate directly with senior executives. Own end-to-end hardware program delivery. Lead program initiation, strategic planning, tracking, and execution through Marvell’s Product and IP Lifecycle Processes, from concept to production readiness and ramp. Build an integrated execution plan. Translate product requirements and engineering objectives into actionable schedules, resource plans, milestones, and measurable deliverables. Lead cross-functional alignment. Coordinate photonics design, analog design, packaging, TO/FO, hardware manufacturing, design validation testing (DVT), reliability qualification, planning and supply management, operations, and finance across multiple development sites. Manage concurrent development efforts. Align silicon subsystems, optical engines, and final product deliverables while resolving competing priorities and resource constraints. Drive critical product milestones. Establish readiness criteria and track progress through test and evaluation, reliability qualification, customer sampling, production acceptance, and ramp. Anticipate and mitigate risks. Identify schedule, technical, material, and resource risks early; assign mitigation owners; and drive timely resolution and escalation. Manage program dependencies. Track internal and external interdependencies, surface misalignments, and coordinate corrective actions before they affect delivery. Create clear accountability. Lead weekly cross-functional reviews and regular program updates, maintaining visibility into decisions, commitments, open issues, and recovery plans. Communicate with precision. Deliver concise reports and executive presentations that explain program health, milestone changes, business implications, and decisions needed. Guide execution tradeoffs. Partner with engineering and business leaders to balance performance, quality, cost, schedule, and customer requirements. Work alongside the team in Santa Clara. This full-time position requires office attendance five days per week; remote and hybrid arrangements are not available. At Marvell, you will combine meaningful program ownership with exposure to advanced optical and semiconductor technologies. You will work closely with specialists across disciplines, strengthen your technical leadership, and see your efforts progress from early development into products supporting cloud and AI infrastructure at scale. What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; a master’s degree or PhD is a plus. Substantial relevant industry experience, preferably 10+ years with a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years with a master’s degree, or 6+ years with a PhD. 5+ years of hardware project or program management experience in the semiconductor industry, with demonstrated ownership of complex development programs. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts and deliver both silicon subsystems and complete customer products. Technical fluency sufficient to engage engineering teams, understand development dependencies, and guide informed execution decisions. Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to motivate geographically distributed teams and influence without direct authority. Strong risk identification, analysis, and problem-solving capabilities, including experience developing mitigation and recovery plans. Sound judgment in balancing internal business objectives with customer requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex program information clearly to engineering teams and executives. Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or comparable program management software. Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Agile, and Jira. A collaborative approach, strong follow-through, and a track record of creating clarity and accountability across functions. Experience that will help you stand out: Background in optical connectivity, silicon photonics, high-speed interconnects, or advanced semiconductor packaging. Experience coordinating hardware validation, reliability qualification, new product introduction, and production ramp. Familiarity with material readiness, supply constraints, and the operational dependencies involved in bringing optical or semiconductor products to market. Bring your technical perspective and program leadership to Marvell—and help deliver the optical connectivity that enables the next wave of cloud and AI innovation.
