Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP is seeking a Specialist, Business Development who will support the day-to-day needs of team members and practice group lawyers in the execution of strategic go-to-market initiatives that generate new client relationships, enhance brand profile, and drive revenue opportunities. This role will support a nationally recognized projects practice that advises on complex energy, infrastructure, and project finance transactions across the United States. This hybrid position will be based in Houston, Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio, Texas. Presence in the office may be required pursuant to the firm's hybrid work policy. Overtime and schedule flexibility may occasionally be required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage the production of client-targeted marketing materials to raise and maintain awareness of our projects team and sector strengths in line with strategic growth objectives, such as bids and requests for proposals (RFPs), client development presentations, external publications, annual client value reports or relationship statement documents, ensuring adherence to brand and style guidelines. Monitor strategic actions agreed in plans and project meetings; lead follow-up efforts. Identify and develop engagement opportunities with target clients specific to assigned practice(s), as well as global and regional client teams served by the practice. Coordinate with partners on the development and publicizing of outcomes and thought leadership (client alerts and articles), in cooperation with the PR team where necessary. Manage the production process for developing practice team(s) newsletters, blogs, client alerts, and other external communications in a timely manner. Develop internal communications for promoting monthly engagement activities of practice team(s); prepare talking points for highlighting same. Ensure that all marketing communications channels are utilized to convey consistent messages about the practice team(s) and the industry sector(s), including social media; identify and recommend opportunities based on topic(s). Track and analyze client engagement activities for practice team(s) in the Firm’s experience management and CRM systems, including producing periodic analyses on same; identify and recommend opportunities based on report data. Work with the in-house events team to plan, implement and report on industry conference sponsorships, client presentations and seminars, section/department retreats, client dinners, and other events related to the promotion of the projects practice. Draft and coordinate submissions in legal directories (such as Chambers and Legal 500) and practice and industry surveys; work with lead lawyers to finalize and prep for interviews. Manage the production of internal presentations for relevant training and development programs; identify and recommend topics for future programs. Conduct or oversee basic research projects (e.g., company relationship information, executive profiles, etc.) working with others to finalize and deliver. Monitor content quality — proof and organize content and related experience lists, marketing collateral and other materials used for go-to-market initiatives to ensure accuracy and consistency in adherence to brand and style guidelines. Maintain marketing mailings and lists in the Firms’ CRM system. Update intranet content in the US and, where relevant, at a global level to raise awareness of business development initiatives and opportunities. Monitor and process check requests, invoices, and other arrangements required for support of marketing activities as needed. Coordinate resources and materials for internal team meetings as needed. Assist team members in the lateral integration and onboarding process as needed. Qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in marketing and business development. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 9 years of relevant experience. Experience in marketing and business development and/or experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, particularly renewable energy, power generation, and energy storage is strongly preferred. Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and consistency across complex, high-stakes materials while managing competing priorities and tight deadlines, including strong proofreading skills and the ability to produce polished, error-free materials with consistent spelling, grammar and formatting. High degree of intellectual curiosity and mindset of continuous learning. Motivated self-started, quickly establishes trust and builds relationships with internal stakeholders by being responsive, proactive, and curious. Must be comfortable interacting with lawyers, other professionals and staff within the firm; possesses diplomacy, enthusiasm, and perseverance. Brings a positive, collaborative attitude and contributes to a supportive and enjoyable team environment. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, hybrid/remote environment; demonstrates agility in responding to requests with accuracy and quality in a timely manner. A problem solver who is detail-oriented and highly organized. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and navigate ambiguity. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, or ability to pick up tech stacks quickly. Willingness to learn, adopt and support the implementation of AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, quality and consistency. Advanced functionality in PowerPoint and Excel and willingness to pick-up quickly. Experience with a CRM and experience management systems preferred.
