Location/Region: This position is located out of our Wixom, MI or Huntersville, NC locations with extensive travel as needed up to 50%. Hybrid work, 3 days in office and 2 days remote when not traveling. What’s the role? The Business Sales Manager leads the North American sales strategy and execution for ZEISS's portfolio of portable measurement and inspection solutions. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth through a combination of direct sales resources and indirect channel partners, ensuring comprehensive market coverage, strong customer engagement, and consistent achievement of revenue objectives. Here’s what you’ll do: The Business Sales Manager recruits, develops, coaches, and leads a team of sales and application professionals, fostering a high-performance culture focused on customer success, technical expertise, and profitable growth. The role is accountable for maximizing sales penetration across defined market segments and sales channels. For indirect channels, the Business Sales Manager develops and manages strategic channel partnerships, enabling partners with the tools, training, and support needed to expand market reach and accelerate growth. Working across multiple technologies and product lines, the Business Sales Manager drives cross-selling initiatives to increase customer adoption of the broader ZEISS portfolio, maximizing share of wallet and strengthening long-term customer relationships. The role ensures close collaboration with other sales, service and aftermarket teams, marketing, and operations to identify, develop, and efficiently convert opportunities into bookings and revenue. In partnership with local and global business leadership, the Business Sales Manager develops and executes sales strategies, go-to-market plans, and channel programs that enhance the customer experience, increase market share, and differentiate ZEISS from competitors. Through strong leadership, strategic channel development, and commercial execution, this position plays a critical role in accelerating growth and expanding ZEISS's presence across North America. Sales Leadership Lead, coach, and develop a team of direct sales professionals and application engineers. Establish performance objectives, development plans, and accountability measures for all direct reports. Drive achievement of bookings, revenue, profitability, pipeline, and market share objectives. Foster a culture focused on customer success, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular business reviews and performance coaching sessions with team members. Channel Management Develop, manage, and grow strategic distributor and channel partner relationships. Establish partner performance expectations, annual business plans, and growth targets. Drive channel enablement through training, sales support, joint customer visits, and technical development. Evaluate channel performance and implement corrective actions when necessary. Identify opportunities to expand market coverage through existing or new channel partnerships. Do you qualify? Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Science, or related field. 7+ years of sales, business development, product sales, or commercial leadership experience within capital equipment, industrial technology, metrology, inspection, manufacturing, or related industries. 3+ years of people leadership experience. Experience managing both direct and indirect sales channels. Proven success leading teams to achieve revenue and profitability objectives. Strong business acumen, commercial negotiation, and strategic planning skills. Ability to translate technical concepts into customer business value. Experience with CRM systems and sales performance management. Working Environment: Manage a high level of travel, 50%+ of the time. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to support customer visits, trade shows, demonstrations, and partner meetings. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced sales environment.
