Job Profile: Administrative Operations Manager 2 Job Family: Administrative Operations Time Type: Full time Apply before 11:59 PM Arizona time the day before the posted End Date. Job Profile Summary: Manages the intermediate to complex operations of a department within the division. Monitors budget, implements strategic priorities, and prepares reports for senior management. Job Description: Salary Range: $85,000 to $95,000 per year; depending on experience. Under the general direction of the Vice President of Real Estate Development, the Business Development Manager is responsible for collaborating with ASU’s Office of Economic Development and regional economic development stakeholders to lead tenant attraction to ASU’s Innovation Zones. This position serves as a bridge between industry, economic development organizations, developers, brokers, municipalities, and ASU leadership, creating long-term partnerships that extend beyond real estate and into research and innovation initiatives. The position supports the University’s strategic objectives by coordinating with internal departments, public-private partners, municipalities, consultants, and contractors to ensure private industry is aware of the co-location and collaboration opportunities available within ASU’s Innovation Zones. Essential Duties: In collaboration with ASU’s Office of Economic Development, develop and execute tenant attraction strategies for each of ASU Innovation Zones. Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective tenants, corporate users, developers, employers, and strategic partners. Target companies in sectors aligned with ASU's educational mission. Lead prospect identification, outreach, qualification, and relationship management from initial contact through occupancy commitment. Facilitate introductions between industry partners and relevant ASU stakeholders. Collaborate with brokerage teams, developers, and leasing partners on marketing and business attraction initiatives. Support site tours, prospect visits, presentations, and due diligence activities. Analyze market trends, competitive districts, industry growth sectors, and emerging opportunities. Maintain and regularly update strategic target lists and prospect pipelines. Support ASU's relationships with city and regional stakeholders and economic development leaders. Establish tenant attraction KPIs and business development metrics. Prepare executive reports, market analyses, and pipeline updates for senior leadership. Track prospect activity, leads, tours, partnership opportunities, and conversion performance. Desired Qualifications: Business development expertise and market knowledge, including familiarity with Arizona economic development initiatives and key growth industries. Existing relationships within Arizona's business, economic development, and commercial real estate communities. Experience utilizing CRM systems to manage business development pipelines. Understanding of real estate leases, development agreements, and legal documentation. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities. Effective communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. Ability to operate effectively in a regulated, deadline-driven, and rapidly changing environment. Working Environment: Work location: The department's home location is the Tempe campus. There is an opportunity for a hybrid schedule with some remote work, but the assistant director will need to be in the office the majority of the work week. Some events may require attendance outside of regular work hours. Activities are performed in a climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of being in a stationary position. Required to move moderate distances to perform work. Regular use of standard office equipment, including, but not limited to computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone, and associated computer/technology peripherals.
