Executive/Senior Engineer/Architect (Building Plan and Policies Department)

[What the role is] The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment. We are looking for solutions-driven, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment. [What you will be working on] You will play a key role in administering and shaping building regulations and policies. Your responsibilities will include: Reviewing and approving building plan submissions, using your technical knowledge to evaluate designs for safety, environmental sustainability, and barrier-free accessibility. Developing strategies, policies, and processes to ensure Singapore's building control framework remains robust and future-ready. Studying data and industry trends to support evidence-based policy decisions that shape how Singapore builds. Managing complex feedback cases and conducting investigations into potential violations of the Building Control Act and Regulations, taking appropriate enforcement action where needed. Working closely with partner agencies to create a pro-business environment that supports a thriving construction industry while ensuring construction productivity. [What we are looking for] A degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Architecture or Building-related discipline. At least 3-4 years of experience in building design or construction supervision is preferred. Expertise in a technical area under the Approved Document will be an advantage. Good command of spoken and written English. Good analytical, writing and communication skills. Successful candidates will be offered contract employment.
