As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be a technical leader in the design, development, and testing of electrical/electronic systems for highly complex aerospace and defense applications. You will drive innovation, provide technical direction, and ensure the successful delivery of high-performance products. Responsibilities: Lead the instrumentation effort from design to de-modification through requirements development, design, lab test, integration, and test operations support Plan, participate, and execute test plan development to ensure objective results are of sound quality Responsible for developing, modifying, and implementing standard operating procedures for instrumentation hardware and system design Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, systems, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems. Maintain, document, and control NIST standards for calibration and verification of measurement equipment. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Expert proficiency in electrical/electronic design and validation techniques. Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools. Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams. Experience analyzing and interpreting electrical/electronic system federal rules and regulations, including Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) requirements. Understanding of electrical/electronic Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA) concepts. Qualifications We Prefer: Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field. Extensive experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications. Experience composing and evaluating an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA). Experience with circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis. Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes. Familiarity with Electromagnetic Effects (EME) to include Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Familiarity with design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL). Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture. Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools. Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry Experience with extensive ground and flight test programs Familiar with Ethernet, 1553, ARINC 429, and CAN bus protocol Familiar with Curtiss Wright and/or similar data acquisition systems Essential Functions: Ability to work on a computer for extended periods. Ability to travel as required. Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment. Precision in designing, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems and components. Ability to analyze complex electrical/electronic systems and evaluate performance data to identify problems and improve designs. Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to diagnose and resolve electrical/electronic issues. Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management. Ability to understand technical documents, electrical/electronic schematics, and electronic instrument measurements. Ability to handle small components, tools, and equipment with precision.
