Our Health Data Analysts play a meaningful role at Blue Cross of Idaho by supporting provider contracting and reimbursement strategies through advanced analytics, forecasting, and process automation. This role is responsible for answering ad hoc business questions related to modeled reimbursement rates, developing and maintaining models that forecast contracted rates for provider contracts, and leveraging SQL and Python to automate existing analytical and reporting processes. Health Data Analysts perform research, analysis, and modeling of complex healthcare data, evaluate utilization and cost trends, and present actionable insights and recommendations that support contract strategy. This role will report to the Manager Provider Analytics and interacts with various departments across Blue Cross of Idaho. We're looking for a Health Data Analyst with: Experience (Level I): 2 years’ data analysis Experience (Level II): 4 years' data analysis Education (Level I & Level II): Bachelor’s Degree Finance, Information Systems, Economics, Math or related field; or equivalent work experience (Two years’ relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college) What your day may look like: Answer ad hoc questions on modeled rates, provider reimbursement, and contract performance. Develop forecasting models for Contracted Rates. Analyze claims, utilization, and financial data to support contracting decisions. Partner with contracting teams to provide insights and recommendations. Automate reporting, modeling, and data workflows using SQL, Excel and Python. Build custom datasets, tools, and reports to support business needs. Identify reimbursement trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Maintain and enhance analytical methodologies and reporting standards. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership. Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Utilize SQL, Python, and Microsoft Office to support data-driven decision-making. We'd love it if our Health Data Analyst also has: Modeling experience Health Insurance/Healthcare knowledge STEM degree As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for a level I is: $66,353 - $92,894 and a level II is: $78,064 - $117,095. The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance). The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, travel requirements, internal equity, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
