Job Description: The Role This role offers the opportunity to join a fast-paced technology team within Fidelity Institutional Technology, supporting FundsNetwork. In this role, you will lead the engineering organization responsible for building and enhancing capabilities across modern enterprise platforms and full-stack applications. You will play a critical role in evolving the model and delivering high-quality client experiences. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will partner closely with business stakeholders, product leaders, and architecture teams to align technology strategy with business objectives. You will lead and develop high-performing engineering teams, drive delivery excellence, and ensure the successful execution of complex, enterprise-scale initiatives. Lead, coach, and develop one or more engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement Partner with product, business, and technology leaders to define strategy, priorities, and roadmaps Drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-performing applications across enterprise platforms Ensure engineering best practices, quality standards, and secure coding principles are consistently applied Oversee delivery execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release coordination Collaborate with architecture teams to align solutions with enterprise standards and long-term technology strategy Drive improvements in system reliability, scalability, and performance Manage risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across initiatives Support hiring, onboarding, and talent development to build a strong engineering organization Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence The Expertise & Skills You Bring 6-8+ years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrated experience leading engineering teams Strong technical background in full-stack development, enterprise systems, and modern architecture Experience delivering applications across web and API Proven ability to lead large-scale, complex initiatives from concept through delivery Strong understanding of Agile development practices and experience leading Agile teams Experience partnering with product and business stakeholders to align on priorities and outcomes Ability to drive technical decision-making while balancing speed, quality, and scalability Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering tools Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence teams and levels The Team This team is part of Fidelity’s broader marketing organization, supporting a diverse client base and delivering solutions that enable high-quality service and operational excellence. The organization provides access to Fidelity’s extensive investment capabilities and plays a key role in supporting client engagement and business growth. You will lead a collaborative and diverse engineering team responsible for business-critical applications across multiple environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager to drive technical strategy, develop engineering talent, and lead the delivery of impactful, client-facing solutions in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
